The Grace of God.

Theme: The Grace of God.
Memory Verse:
“…Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?God forbid…” (Romans 6:1-2).
Beloved
Let’s continue to praise the King of kings and the Lord of lords.   He is the Alpha and the Omega. Let’s honour Him that lives for ever. Let’s worship him. Let’s magnify him. Let’s appreciate the great deliverer. Let’s appreciate the great shepherd. The one thirsted so that we will be filled. The One who became poor that we may be rich. He is our joy, our peace, our hope, our confidence, our perfection, our excellence,  our all in all. In him we live and move and have being. He is the grace of God. Let’s us honour him. Let’s thank Him.  Let’s adore him. let’s worship Him. Father, accept our worship in Jesus precious name.
This season the Lord is asking us to increase our understanding of GRACE. The phrase ” the grace of God”, is a commonly used phrase, especially within the church. But do we have full understanding of it? What exactly is grace. In Christianity, grace is often defined as ‘unmerited favour’. A good example of the grace of God, is that God sent Jesus to die for us while we were yet sinners, in order to redeem us, save our souls and reconnect us to God.
However, it is good to know that spiritually speaking, GRACE just like TRUTH, is the spiritual person of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He is the grace of God to humanity. He is the embodiment of grace. If you remove Jesus Christ, there is no Grace and no Truth. The word of God says:
“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ”‘ ( John 1:17).  Indeed, verse 14 says when Jesus came in the flesh, he was ” full of grace and truth”.
How much do you value, fear, honour and esteem the grace of God? Sadly, I have observed one thing within the body of Christ. That is that those who say they are children of God, tend to toy with sin. It is true that the word of God says:,”But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound”(Romans 5:20b). But our memory verses ask a vital question and provided an immediate answer:
“Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?God forbid”,  is the response. Sin is basically, disobedience to the word of God. Sin is from our thoughts and hearts (Mark 7:21-23), we should learn to deal with it.
My understanding is that there are too many fake “born again” children of God in the church today. Many have frustrated the grace of God. A true born again child of God  can not toy with sin:
“We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not”(1John 5:18).
Brethren, sin is a destroyer. Sin has a great capacity to keep us at the same level. As a child of God, if you are stagnant and finds it difficult to make progress in life, be honest to carry out a self-appraisal. In Christ, God is eager to bless us, but he cannot bless a sinner. He says in his book, those ” who honour me I will honour” (1 Sam 2:30). Our God is in the heavens. He want to draw you higher and higher according to His word but you have to please him first by lifting Him up:
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me”( John 12:32)
True, our salvation is by grace lone:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”( Eph 2:8).
Also true, our righteous is not from obeying the law:
“I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain “(Gal 2:21).
But our God is righteous. Holiness is His nature. His eyes are too pure to behold iniquities. He is a Spirit. He wants to dwell in you if only you will “present your body a living sacrifice” ( Romans 12:1). The Word asks:
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (1Cor 3:16). Please, do not frustrate the Holy Spirit of God in your thoughts, words and actions.
Sin of any kind is from the devil. The grace of God loves sinners but he hates sin with a passion:
“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God” ( 1 John 3:8-9)
Jesus Christ is our grace. He is a Spirit (1Cor 3:17..). He dwells in us. Let’s honour him by obying His word. He is the Word of God.
Do not be bothered how things are  at the moment. If the grace of God (Jesus) is upon your life, He can turn things around in ways that no human being can imagine (1 Cor 2:9).  Your responsibility is to make up your mind to walk before Him in perfection. He can turn ridicule into miracle. If  you have no qualification, the grace of God can qualify you and beautify you.
Many people spend their life time struggling to be rich materially instead of making efforts to seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matt 6:33). Unfortunately, some people end up getting wealth from agents of darkness, which carries price of sorrow. Without righteousness, wealth means nothing. The Word of God says :
“Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness”
(Proverbs 8:18 ).
When the grace of God blesses anyone with His wealth in righteousness, there is no sorrow added to it ( Proverbs 10:22).
If you are truly a born again child of God, walking with the Lord in righteousness and perfection, then material prosperity is your heritage:
“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich” (2 Cor 8:9).
The WILL of the grace of God for you is to enjoy all round prosperity. However, if you do not deal with sin in your life, riches and honour may not be yours. He says: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”(3 John 2).
Receive the grace to deal with sins in your life in Jesus mighty name.
To grow spiritually increasingly requires daily meditation in the word of God.
Prayer: To all the readers of this message, “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen”(Rev 22:21).

In the Ministry Of the Word (MOW)-Acts 6:4, we primarily encourage and empower believers to be rich in the words of God: “let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom” (Col 3:16). The entrance of the WORD is the true source of LIGHT in a dark world(Ps 119:130). We also encourage believers to speak to one another “in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs(Eph 5:19). We encourage everyone to “seek first the kingdom of God  his righteousness”..Matt 6:33). We stress that: Righteousness exalts a person (Prov 14:34). We emphasize that pure Christianity is about True Spirituality in Christ Jesus. We emphasize that the POWER in the blood of Jesus has set us FREE from all forms of bondage, ignorance, disease and that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2Cor 3:17). Jesus  Christ is the Word of God (John 1:1; Rev 19:13). We emphasise that Jesus  is the Truth (John 14:6). The words of God are spirit & are Life(John 6:63). We allow the Scriptures to answer all questions. We avoid the dilution, misinterpretation or deliberate corruption of the words of God. We create the awareness that Jesus has made all true believers kings and priests unto God and his Father(Rev 1:6). In addition, aside from soul winning, as a spiritual body, we also empower unbelievers with knowledge using the principles of our Lord Jesus Christ with the understanding that when they witness the power of the living God, they will be compelled to believe and exalt His  holy name (Psalm 46:10).
One major objective of MOW is to increasingly improve everyone’s spiritual understanding! Spiritual ignorance is a major cause of human destruction(Hosea 4:6). Indeed, many children of God have gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge (Isa 5:13). Indeed, “through knowledge shall the just be delivered” (Prov 11:9). We are established by the righteousness in the word of God (Isa 54:14).

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever “(Hebrews 13:8).

SALVATION-by Pastor Usungedo

8 December 2014

Memory Verse: ” And she shall bring forth a Son and thou shall call His name JESUS : for He shall SAVE his people from their sins” ( Matt. 1:21)

I give God praise for another privilege to share His word with us. Thank you so much.

Salvation is the all inclusive word of the Gospel, gathering into itself all the Redemptive Acts and Processes.
It deals with the emancipation of mankind from whatsoever Sin had caused: Spiritual conflict, death, sickness, bondage, slavery, separation from God etc.

However, God’s Salvation is not merely a deliverance as such, but a DIVINE PERSON- The Deliverer, A Saviour. (Jon.3:16; Acts 4:12.)

Yes a Saviour . Our text states clearly that  a Son shall be born, and shall be called Jesus for He shall save ( The Saviour shall save) his people from their sins.
” And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is CHRIST THE LORD.” Lk2:10 – 11.
During this birth, there was a just and devout man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who waited for Christ’s coming and ministry. The Bible went on to say that it was revealed unto him by the Holy Sport that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

Stated further the Bible informs that Simeon came by the Spirit into the Temple: and when the parents brought in the Child Jesus to do for Him after the custom of the law, then he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said:
” Lord now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace according to thy Word: For my eyes have seen thy Salvation” Lk. 2: 29-30.
Simeon saw Him with his eyes, his heart received Him, his hands handled Him; the long awaited Messiah and Saviour. Is.62:11, Lk 3:6.
Salvation is personal and only in Christ.

Christ’s mission was very clear:
” For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” Lk.19:10.
Salvation means deliverance from being lost. Man is wandering about in the forest of life, trying to go somewhere but unable to find his way. He is lost. His only hope is for someone to notice that he is lost and begin to seek for the Saviour. This is where the glorious Gospel of Salvation comes in. God sees that man is lost and He sends His Son to seek and save man.
Salvation means deliverance from sin.

” For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” RM.3:23.
Sin had separated man from God. ( Is.59:2)
In salvation man is justified freely by God’s grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. RM.3:24.
Man is delivered from the power of darkness( Satan/ sin) and is translated into the kingdom of the Son of God, in whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

Sin is a spiritual disease which man has no cure.
Sin is a master that enslaves and will not let go more so the world man lives is crooked, perverse and sinful.
The cure is that God has sent His Son to seek and to save man. Matt. 1:21.
It is writtenChrist in me the hope of glory“. Therefore man without Christ is hopelessness, misery, crises and eternal damnation.
Salvation means reconciliation with God - Col.2:20-23.

Salvation means deliverance from enemies and danger - Matt.8:25-27.
Salvation means to make well, to heal, restore physical , mental and emotional health. 1Pet.2:24; Isaiah. 53: 3-5.
Salvation declares that Jesus Christ is concerned with man’s suffering. ( Jn. 15:13-14)

For all these Christ came, was crucified, He shed His blood, was mocked, scourged with stripes, given the crown of thorns, He died on the cross, buried and on the third day God raised Him from the dead for our justification.
Therefore in Christ you are justified, declared righteous, accepted by God and given Eternal Life.
If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new. - 2Cor.5:17.
He is waiting at the door of your heart knocking, even now. Open for Him and receive forgiveness and a brand new life. Rev 3:20; ROM. 10:9-10.

Jesus is the reason for the season. Preach salvation to all and sundry humanity needs God’s Salvation - The Lord Jesus Christ.

Stay blessed. Wishing you a Merry Christmas in advance.

Memory Verse:
“Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you” ( Luke 17:21).

Beloved,
Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We bless the name of Lord for ushering us into the last month in the year of our Lord 2014. December is the month of gratitude, stocktaking, resolution, thanksgiving and praise.

Please, join us to praise His holy name. Let’s praise the One with a name above every other name.  Let’s praise the Ancient of Days.  Let’s praise Jehovah El-Shaddai.  Let’s praise the all sufficient God; in Him we live, move and have our being. Let’s praise the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Let’s praise the Alpha and the Omega. Let’s praise the Way, the Truth and the Life. Let praise the head of the church. Let’s praise the resurrection and the life. Let’s praise the One who is alive for ever, to die no more. Let’s  praise the embodiment of the Holy Spirit. Let’s praise the embodiment of the grace of God. Let’s worship Him. Let’s be still before Him. Let’s magnify His holy name. Let’s magnify His word. Let’s us worship Him in spirit and in truth. Thank you Father. Thank you Jesus.  Thank you Holy Spirit. In Jesus mighty name we have worship. Amen & Amen! Praise God. Hallelujah!

Beloved, it is wisdom to know that the kingdom of God is within you.  The word of God says:
“through knowledge shall the just be delivered” ( Proverbs 11:9b). Life is about what you know, spiritual knowledge.  You cannot rise beyond your level of knowledge. Without knowledge the just person is in bondage despite being just.  God is all knowledgeable (Omniscience).  No other spirit being has this divine attribute. The devil may have many tricks but he is very far from knowing everything. When Jesus Christ was on earth, the scripture says in every situation, He knew what to do ( John 6:6).
One important aspect of knowledge that true believers need to have increasing is the truth in our memory verse: The kingdom of God is within you. I have no doubt that this knowledge is lacking in the church today. The kingdom of God is a kingdom of power (1 Cor 4:20).  It is not meat and drink but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost ( Romans 14:17).  The kingdom of God is a kingdom of kings, because Christ has made all true believers kings ( Rev 1:6).  It is a kingdom of purity. A kingdom of prosperity. A kingdom of the Holy Spirit. A kingdom of light. There  is no trace of darkness in the kingdom of God . The glory of the Lamb of God completely lightens it up( Rev 21:23).

Brethren, do you know that your body is the holy temple of God? ( 1 Cor 3:16).  The Spirit of God cannot dwell in unholy body. That is why we need to present our bodies “as a living sacrifice” ( Romans 12:1).

Believe me and believe the word  of God,  spirits contrary to the Holy Spirit of God are constantly at war to inhabit your body, in order to oppress you. You need knowledge to drive them away and keep them at a distance. Many children of God go into captivity, because they have no knowledge (Isa 5:13).

A common source of darkness in the body of Christ today is lukewarmness among children of God. There can be no light without FIRE.  Be on fire for the Lord and you shall be free indeed ( John 8:36). The Lord in His revelation through John  to the church  of the Laodiceans, wrote:
“So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth”.Rev 3:16). May  you never be spue out by the Lord Himself in Jesus name. Amen. Be hot for Lord. The more the fire of the Holy Spirit burns in you, the more difficult it is for forces of darkness to successfully oppress you.

We know that nature abhors a vacuum. If the body, soul and spirit is not filled up with the Holy Spirit, evil spirits will fight to occupy even though the person has accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Jesus Himself  explained this:
“When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none …”( Matt 12:43-45).

To possess your possession, you need deliverance and holiness:

“But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions” ( Obadiah vs 17).

Be hungry for knowledge, especially
spiritual knowledge. God is about to do something NEW in  your life. It is a promise from a faithful witness:

“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful” (Rev 21:5).

It is your time to go higher. Arise and shine…. Isa 60:1

To grow spiritually increasingly requires daily meditation in the word of God.

Prayer: There is someone reading this message, receive the grace of spiritual  understanding in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Humility-the Basic Requirement for Divine Promotion.

30 November 2014
Ministry of the Word (MOW):
True Spirituality (TS).
Improving our Spiritual Understanding
Theme: Humility-the Basic Requirement for Divine Promotion.
Memory Verses:
“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name”
 (Phil 2:8-9)
Beloved,
Grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with every reader of this message. Amen and Amen. God was pleased to have His fullness dwells in Jesus Christ ( Col 1:19).
One divine quality that is lacking in our societies today is humility. This is very much so even within the body of Christ(the church), where it is not uncommon to observe spiritual pride. Our memory verses tell us that it was because of Christ’s humility that he was divinely exalted and given the name (Jesus), above every other name.
What exactly is humility?  Humility can be viewed from different perspectives. However, this is not the essence of this message, rather to highlight humility as a divine quality. The free encyclopaedia explains humility as “the act or posture of lowering oneself in relation to others, or conversely having a clear perspective and respect for one’s place in context’. A humble (adjective) person is meek, teachable, patient, able to bear insult, easy to lead or guide and able to submit to the will of God. Humility is closely linked to meekness. Jesus’ teaching: “Blessed are the meek:”for they shall inherit the earth” ( Matt 5:5). Unfortunately, some people see humility and meekness as a sign of weakness, rather than power. They are wrong.
Humility can be learnt through life experiences. Humility is related to what we know(knowledge) and wisdom.
Humility is now being studied by researchers as a quality or trait that can enhance leadership effectiveness. This is not surprisingly because, Jesus Christ, the greatest human leader that ever lived on the surface of the earth was humility personified.
In simple words, this writer  believes humility is power, and can be understood as having so much power but refusing to make use of it, in order that God’s will, plan and purpose may be established. While on earth, Jesus had so much power but restrained himself from using it so that the will of his Father will come to pass. For example, when the devil tempted in Him, Matthew 4:3, saying “If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.”He replied:
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”  He had the power to turn the stones to bread but He chose not to obey the devil. His humility was based on knowledge, wisdom and understanding. This same understanding enabled Him to humble himself and accepted death on the cross. No wonder God highly exalted Him and gave Him a name above every other name, that at the name of JESUS every knee should bow in heaven, on earth and underneath the earth, to the glory of God the Father.
Humility is found in Christ, hence, Apostle  Paul enjoins believers to have the mind of Christ:
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God” (Phil 2:5-6).
Humility enables us to put the interest of others above ourselves. Apostle Paul counselled:
“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves” ( Phil 2:3).
I have often wondered how some people would behave or what they would do , if they were given so much power. Their perceived ‘enemies’ will not live one extra day!
Many people have terminated their destinies prematurely because they lack humility and meekness, and unwittingly have allowed pride to get into their hearts. God is unable to relate to a proud person, no matter his zeal for the Lord.
In Christ, God will only guide and direct those who are humble and meek. Meekness is fundamental to His guidance:
“The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way”( Psalm 25:9).
Each time, I remember the servant of God, Moses, I shake a  bit. The bible says  no human being on earth was as meek as Moses (Num 12:3),  yet he could not make it to the promised land, because of one weakness( anger). This teaches us at least one thing, that humility alone is not enough, rather what we need  in life is perfection (Matthew 5:48).
Saint James warns us that God resists pride( opposite of humility):
“God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble” ( James 4:6). The book of Proverbs further warn us that: “Pride goeth before destruction , and an haughty spirit before a fall (Proverbs 16:18).

Beloved, “Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering …”(Col 3:12-13).
Examine yourself and flush out every spirit of pride, especially spiritual pride which is not uncommon in the church.
To live a victorious life on earth, we need to have the mind of Christ. We need the spirit of humility and meekness
To grow spiritually increasingly requires daily meditation in the word of God.
Prayer: For the reader of this message, receive the grace of humility and meekness  in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Be Patient.

Improving our Spiritual Understanding
Theme: Be Patient.
Memory Verse:
“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer” (Romans 12:12).
Beloved,
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the divine creator of all things and in Him all things consist.
As we moved towards the end of the year, please, be patient no matter the challenges you are going through.  Our memory verse admonishes us to be patient in tribulation.
Patience ( also called forbearance), is the ability to tolerate or bear suffering, insult, provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, or irritation. Many people may say they have patient, but that is using their own standards. True patience is from the Holy Spirit and is a component of the fruit of the Spirit:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23, NIV).
The God Almighty is a God of patience: “Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus” (Romans 15:5).
Brethren, the challenges or tribulations we go through are what God uses to train us in patience:
“And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope” ( Romans 5:3-4)
This is also  why St James admonishes us  to be joyful when we face trials:
“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience…” ( James 1:2-4).
Apostle Paul calls our challenges light affliction which are only temporary: “
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory “(2 Cor 4:17).
As a mental health professional, I often feel sad to see patients harm themselves deliberately out of distress. Some of them end up committed suicide. The basic reason for this behaviour is lack of patient. If only they had exercise a little patient. Whether things are good or bad, be patient.
Jesus Himself assures you that if you persevere and does not give up, your trials and challenges shall “turn to you for a testimony” ( Luke 21:13)
“In your patience possess ye your souls” (Luke 21:19).
As you study the word of God, and put it into practice,  you learn patience:
“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope ( Romans 15:4).
“Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts ;for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh” (James 5:8).
To grow spiritually increasingly requires daily meditation in the word of God.
Prayer: For the reader of this message, receive the grace of patience in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Be a Partaker of His Divine Nature.

Memory Verse:
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (2Peter 1:4)

Beloved,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In Him we live and move and have our being.

God created man in His own image and likeness ( Gen 1:27), so that man would share His divine nature. This divine nature was lost through the original sin of Adam and Eve( Genesis chapter 3). We thank God for love ( John 3:16),  which enabled our sins to be washed away through the previous blood of Jesus Christ. Through Jesus Christ we are reconnected to God and able to stand boldly in righteousness before Him because the one who knew no sin bore the sins of the whole world at the cross. The scripture says:
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”(2 Cor 5:21).  So our righteousness is not of our own.

The divine nature of God is broad and reveals the true nature of the living God, the Lord Almighty, whose name is Jehovah. The King of kings and the Lord of lords, the Lord of hosts. Righteousness, holiness, purity, faithfulness, integrity etc , are some of God’s divine nature. The scripture
states that the eyes of God are too pure to behold iniquities ( Habakkuk 1:13). Galatians 5:22, lists some of this divine nature (the fruit of the Spirit), as love, joy, peace, patience, temperance etc. Some of the divine nature are listed by Apostle Peter:

“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness…” (2 Peter 1:5-7).  Many children of God may not appreciate that knowledge is the nature of God. That is why He is called Omniscience( all knowing God). Ignorance is dangerous and has led many to destruction and is a great enemy of God ( Hosea 4:6). Some children of God have contemplated suicide because they lack patience. They are not “patient in tribulation” (Romans 12:12).

It is impossible to be a partaker of  this divine nature without the Holy Spirit dwelling in us.  Is your body clean enough for the Holy Spirit to dwell in? The word of God says:
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are” (1 Cor 3:16-17).

The world we live in is very corrupt due to the influence and activities of the prince of this world ( Satan). He went to Jesus but could not prevail ( Matt 4:1-10). The weapon Jesus used was the word of God: “It is written”. We have to ‘escape’ the corruption in this world before we can be partakers of God’s divine  nature. The prince of this world will visit you just as he visited Jesus, but he should have nothing in you( John 14:30).

Brethren, the world we live in is very tempting. If you do not believe me, check the news papers, magazines,      radio or the television:

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world”(1 John 2:16).

How prepared are you to be a partaker of the divine nature? Put on the full armour of God. Be ready to resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Jesus Christ came that we will enjoy life abundantly ( John 10:10) . Aggressively tell Satan ‘ I refuse to bow to you’! Tell sickness, doubt, fear, ignorance, stagnation, frustration ‘I refuse to bow to you’! It shall be so in Jesus name. Amen.

Do not frustrate the Holy Spirit of God in you. Be diligent and desire spiritual knowledge and God will fill you up. It will then become difficult for anyone to put you under bondage.

Be a partaker of His divine nature. It is written:
“I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High” (Psalm 82:6).

To grow spiritually increasingly requires daily meditation in the word of God.

We are Nothing Without the Truth.

9 November 2014

Improving our Spiritual Understanding
Theme: We are Nothing without the Truth.
Memory Verse:
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”.
 ( John 14:6).
Beloved
Let us praise the most high God,  for His mercy, grace and fruitfulness. Let’s praise the King of kings and Lord of lords. Let’s praise the Ancient  of Days.  Let praise the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Let praise the all sufficient God in Christ Jesus.  The God that is more than enough. In  him we live, and move and have our being.  He himself says without me you can do thing ( John 15:5c).
Brethren, Jesus Christ is the truth. He is a Spirit that works in us. The truth is a Spirit.  Without the truth dwelling in us, we are nothing and we can do nothing. In the truth we live, and move and have our being (Acts 17:28).
It is important to be able to distinguish ‘facts’ from the truth. For example, all scientific information or data are facts, subject to change when new scientific information become available. Hence, we never talk of  ‘scientific truth’ but rather scientific facts.  But the word of God  does not change.  The word of God is for ever settled in heaven. The word of God is the embodiment of the Spirit of God. John 17:17 says:
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”  The word of God sanctifies. The word of God cleanses us.
Please, let  us pay attention to what his Word says. Jesus is the truth. The devil is a liar from the very beginning (John 8:44). He often defeat many Christians at the level of their thoughts. Am often amazed at the rate some “born again” Christians  tell lies easily, to cover a wrong act. They will lie to you at the slightest opportunity, yet they believe they are born again.  What a level of ignorance! Being born again is a spiritual process where your spirit man undergoes a spiritual rebirth by the Holy Spirit of God in Christ Jesus. When that happens, you become empowered by the spirit of truth. A true child of God cannot lie or distort the figures because the spirit of truth dwells in him. A true child of God should be able to express his thoughts and feelings freely, openly and should be in full control of his behaviours and actions. A true child of God should be open, honest and transparent. Jesus says : “But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil” (Matt 5:37).
The Holy Spirit of God is the vital connectivity between God and man. The inspiration of the Almighty gives the spirit of man the required understanding (Job 32:8).
In the beginning, God created man in his image and likeness (Gen 1:26-27), to function like in Him in thoughts, words and actions. Of all his creation, man was the only creature that God extended his divine nature to, out of love:
“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul(Gen 2:7).
However, this divine nature was lost when the first man Adam, sinned by yielding to the temptation of the devil. Thanks be to God for Jesus (the truth), who has endeavoured all true believers to regain this divine nature, by shedding his precious blood, at the cross. The Scripture says: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”(John 1:12). Hence, our sonship of God is only in Christ Jesus by grace through faith and it is a gift from God through a divine empowerment.
Many believers lack the understanding that the same Holy Spirit that was in Jesus Christ is in us. Jesus Himself said if we believe in him, we shall do greater works than what he did while on earth ( John 14:12). The Psalmist was very much aware of our divine nature when he said through the Holy Spirit: “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High (Psalm 82:6). The only reason we do not appreciate that we are gods is because of spiritual ignorance: “because they know not , neither do they understand (verse 5) .
Unfortunately, many people in the Church lack understanding of their divine nature, and their position in Christ Jesus. A child of God should be eager to acquire knowledge, especially spiritual knowledge.
The Holy Spirit of God, speaks, leads, guide and direct us daily, but ignorance may not allow the believer to hear from Him. The Bible says the Holy Spirit only speaks what he hears from the Word: “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13).
Brethren, embracing the truth is vital to your spiritual health. The words of God are spirit and life. We are to align ourselves to the words of God.
The words we speak out of our mouth are very powerful  indeed. They are messages we send out to the angelic world. Even when we cancel it, it is not exactly the same thing as if we never uttered it. The bible says: Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Prov 18:21).The same Proverbs says: “Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth (Prov 6:2). Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man(Col 4:6).
As a mental health specialist, I can tell you that your thoughts are very important in maintaining a stable mental state. Our thoughts, produce our words and emotions, which in turn produce our behaviors and actions. If our mind is filled with thoughts of doubt, fear, uncertainty,  anxiety and failure, this will be reflected in what we say and how we behave, hence, the word of God says: “for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh” (Matt 12:34).
If we fill our mind, heart, spirit, and  inner being with the words of God, this will  be reflected in what we say and how we behave. The words of God are reflection of the thoughts of God. God has the best thoughts for man. He says: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jer 29:11).
God is a Spirit. God is a supernatural being and He does supernatural things. We often use out thoughts and physical senses to limit Him. Our faith in God is not based on the physical things, we see but on the things that we cannot see.  God is a Spirit of goodness and perfect positiveness. There is no trace of negativity in him. He calleth those things which be not as though they were  (Roman 4:17). We are to take every contrary thought captive and make it obedient to the word of Christ (2Cor 10:5). Be transparent, open, honest and sincere with yourself. Identify negative thoughts and feelings and refuse to dwell in them. This requires spiritual training.  Resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
All the works of God are done in truth ( Psalm 33:4b).
To have God- like thoughts, feelings, words and deeds ( the truth) require spiritual training in the word of God: Train yourself to be godly(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).
To grow spiritually increasingly requires daily meditation in the word of God.
Prayer: For the reader of this message, receive the spirit of truth in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

How Sincere are You?

           2 November 2014

            Improving our Spiritual Understanding

Theme: How Sincere are You?
Memory Verse:
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby” ( 1 Peter 2:2).
Beloved
On behalf of the MOW family, I sincerely welcome you to the new month of November. A month of fruitfulness and abundance of grace. God bless you as you read and meditate on the sincere word of God. The Holy Spirit is asking us to start the new month with a focus on sincerity.
Our memory verse says we should DESIRE the sincere milk of the word of God. Brethren, our God is the God of sincerity. Without sincerity our love for God and humanity amounts to nothing.
What is sincerity? What does it mean to be sincere? To be sincere is to be  free from pretence or deceit; to be truthful or genuine with your thoughts, feelings and actions; to be transparently  honest with your thoughts and words. The free web encyclopaedia explains it thus:
“Sincerity is the virtue of one who speaks and acts truly about his or her own feelings, thoughts, and desires”. To be sincere is to be pure, unadulterated, unmixed, and to maintain integrity. Sincerity is a spirit. Our Lord in the Book of Revelation says:
“So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth” (Rev 3:16).
In Christ, God has no real issues with those who declare themselves as satanist, and choose to honour and worship Satan. At least, they have taken a stand based on choice. The only message God send to them regularly is to repent and save their souls so that they shall live ( Ezekiel 18:27). But for someone to declare that he is for God but he goes about doing things contrary to the Holy Spirit, amount to frustrating the Grace of God (Gal 2:21).
In the  denominational churches today, you find different levels of insincerity, dishonesty, deception, cheating etc amongst many who claim to be “born again” children of God.  This ought not to be so. Personally, I believe  spiritual ignorance  is the root cause of this problem. The Bible says my people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge ( Hosea 4:6). The Holy Spirit is a Spirit of sincerity, purity, holiness, truth, honesty, and transparency . Without these spiritual qualities, believers are spiritually DISCONNECTED from God who is a Spirit (John 4:24). Perhaps, what many believers need to know increasingly is that God relates to us, according to how we relate to Him. The Psalmist through the Holy Spirit, puts it succinctly:
“With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;
With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward” (Psalm 18:25-26).
Beloved, be sincere and faithful with God and man; in return you will receive sincerity and faithfulness from God and man, based on the law of harvest. God is a Spirit with DIVINE NATURE (2 Peter 1:4). We can only find God and relate to Him with our hearts and spirits rather than with our feelings or minds.
The more we possess the divine nature of God by desiring and developing  increasing spiritual values, the more our life is fulfilled on earth. Every other spirit will disappoint you or fail you, but the Holy Spirit can never fail you.  I love the way Apostle Peter puts it:
“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness..” 2 Peter 1:5-7).
According Apostle Paul, we should do this: “That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ”(Phil 1:10).
To grow spiritually increasingly requires daily meditation in the word of God.
Prayer: For the reader of this message, receive the spirit of sincerity in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Godly Work Style-by pastor Usungedo

29 October 2014

Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again ( back) ;
Not purloining ( pilfering) but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our saviour in all things.  ( Titus 2 : 9-10).

Beloved, it’s with pleasure to come knocking at your domain again. Thanks for receiving me.

Friends, the call to display a godly work style is a call to exercise our inner strength and character of who we truly are as Christians. You know we have a lifestyle so I presume there must be a work style.
To me it is a reminder to set out always under God’s  authority; carrying godly standards into the workplace and society at large.

Know who we are?
” We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works……..” ( Eph.2:10)
Also in 2Cor.5:20, the Bible states ” Now we are ambassadors for Christ……”

From the foregoing, being ambassadors for Christ etc; therefore, considering godly work style appears a noble ideal. Godliness is commitment to Jesus Christ and this should reflect in all that we do.

For now, let’s read through a similar text in Eph.6:5-9.
” Servants be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
  .Not with eye service, as men pleasers; but as servants of Christ doing the will of God from the heart;
With goodwill doing service as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall be received of the Lord, whether  he be bond or free.
And as masters, do the same things unto them, forebearing threatening; knowing that your master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him”

It is my view that the principles of Titus 2:9-10 and Eph.6:5-9 apply to employees and employers in every age, whether in the home, in business and of course in everywhere.
To us there must be a deeper meaning and purpose that gives our work a real significance.

Shall we then consider these points:

1. The Christian employee is to be obedient.
This is being faithful, conscientious in service and following instructions on matters involving the workplace. The phrase ” in all things” relate to workplace. Does not mean he is to obey orders that bring reproach to the Lord and His people. (  Philippians 4:8-9)
Have an attitude of appreciation for the job, show  commitment and loyalty, build good relationship and focus on increased productivity. Show excellence.

2. Serve with singleness of heart as to Christ.
You shall serve with purpose and focused attention, in sincerity without any pretense or hypocrisy or slack.
3. Don’t render eye service as a man pleaser.
Christian, work just as hard even when the boss isn’t around; period.
” For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God” ( Jn. 12:43)

4. Not answering back.( Titus 2:9)
Avoid conflict. Recognise the need for mutual respect and orderliness. Seek to resolve conflicts in a healthy way. Respond with honesty and courtesy and be constructive. ( Eph. 4:29)

5. Work as a servant of Christ doing the will of God from the heart.
Love , interest, enthusiasm, passion and spiritual energy are necessary attributes that must be brought to bear in our endeavours.

6. No pilfering.
We must show honesty and integrity.
Show fidelity – Trustworthiness, loyalty and faithfulness. Your employer is to know that they can depend on the christian worker in all that he does.
Eschew corrupt tendencies.

7. Render cheerful service to men as you would to the Lord. ( Col. 3:23)
Avoid immoral or unjust labour. Serve diligently with joy as though your boss is the Lord Jesus and not man. ( 1Cor.15:58)
8. Adorn the doctrine of God in all things. (1Cor.6:20)
Dress yourself with the teachings of God. Wherever you are the teachings should be clearly seen.
Put on the Lord Jesus. Put on the Truth.

9. Masters do likewise. ( Eph.6:9)
Employers this is for you – “do likewise” as above.
There is a Master in heaven who is no respecter of persons.

Please be our ambassador out there.
God bless, keep and prosper you in Jesus Name.

Kindly share your mind on this topic and probably testimonies or personal experience with us.

Thank you.

Resisting the Devil.

26 OCTOBER 2014

 Ministry of the Word(MOW):
True Spirituality(TS)
Improving our Spiritual Understanding.
Theme: Resisting the Devil.
Memory Verse:
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you ( James 4:7).
Beloved
Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. When you are closed to God in Christ, it becomes easier for you to resist  the devil. Every true believer should first and foremost submit himself or herself unto God in order to get the strength to resist the devil.
Who is the devil?  Based on my understanding of the word of God, the devil is a spirit. The devil represents everything contrary to the word of God and is the origin of all evil. The devil is primarily destructive and has many evil spirits operating with him. Evil spirits are the architects of man’s problems, including diseases , sicknesses, fear, bondage, ignorance etc. It is easy for a person to be evil without being fully aware. Evil often start at the level of our thoughts and beliefs, before actions. Prophet Isaiah says:
“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts”.
( Isaiah 55:7a).
Thus, evil often begins at the level of our thoughts. Our attitudes, behaviours and actions are often external expression of  our thoughts and beliefs. Jesus in His teachings says: “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies” (Matt 15:19). Jesus has also enabled us to understand that the words we speak are a reflection of our thoughts and hearts:
“O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh” (Matt 12:34).
Apostle Paul  admonishes us: “Recompense to no man evil for evil”( Romans 12:17). He also warns us: “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21). No wonder our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ summarises it very profoundly: “But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also” (Matt 5:39). Please, be honest, how easy is it for a true believer in Christ to obey this?  “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God” (Luke 18:27).
Please, note here that the word of God is directing us to resist the devil  (James 4:7), but not to resist evil (Matt 5:39). Resist the cause (evil spirits) but not the effect (harm). This calls for increasing spiritual understanding. It may appear contradictory to the undiscerning mind.
The Bible tells us that Jesus, the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil:
“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil ” (1 John 3:8). Sin is disobedience to the word of God. Sin automatically separates us from God ( Isaiah 59:1-2). Sin makes it impossible for us to resist the devil. You need to put on the full armour of God (Ephesians 6:13-18)
According to Apostle Paul, we are to: “Abstain from all appearance of evil” ( 1Thess 5:22). Even in the secular law, we are told that ignorance is not an excuse or good defence. But can you imagine the level of spiritual ignorance existing within the body of Christ (the church)? You may say you have no evil, but how TRANSPARENT is your heart?   Be sincere enough to examine your heart and get rid of any anger, bitterness, resentment, gossip, hatred, unforgiveness,  deceit , seduction, manipulation etc.
Never forget that ignorance, fear, doubt, anxiety, bondage, insincerity, coldness etc are linked to evil.
Daily pray for the  grace to close the door of your heart against bitterness, unforgiveness, anger, fear, miserliness, coldness, laziness, spiritual ignorance etc.
“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” ( Matt 5:48).
To grow spiritually increasingly requires daily meditation in the word of God.
Prayer: For the reader of this message, receive the grace to RESIST the devil in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
Yours in the Vineyard of Jesus Christ. Bro Ben Bassey, Iyobosa, & the MOW family.

It is total obedience to the word of God in Christ Jesus. We condemn the use of the words of God out of selfish interest to make money.
Also, “through knowledge shall the just be delivered” (Prov 11:9). We are established by the righteousness in the word of God (Isa 54:14).
Please note that the MOW is an initiative and the spiritual arm of Abasi Health Foundation (AHF). AHF is a registered NGO in Nigeria , with the primary objective of empowering all groups of people to optimize their health. It is aimed at encouraging everyone to have increasing awareness of three broad levels of health: Physical, Mental and Spiritual. May God give you the grace of increasing understanding in Jesus Name.
