DIVINE EMPLOYMENT! -by Pastor Chris Ibia

UNDERSTANDING TRUE SPIRITUALITY
THEME: DIVINE EMPLOYMENT!
MEMORY VERSE: “Now he that plantethand he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour” (1Cor. 3:8).
Beloved
Praise be to our God for His mercy and for His wonderful works in the entire universe. The psalmist says: “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth”  (Ps 34:1)
Everyone at new birth is a direct employee to handle the affairs of heaven here on earth. So, to be fruitless is an abuse of divine association and salvation. Hence, the bible says: “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise” (prov. 11:30).
Every true believer is a potential steward, knowingly and unknowingly. “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another anymore: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way” (Rom.14:12-13).
Being in Christ is a call to save life and never to destroy at all. A call to build and not to breakdown, a call to promote and not to demote, a call to righteousness/holiness in Christ Jesus and not dirtiness. No wonder apostle Paul by the Spirit of God speaketh expressly on this wise: “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth there upon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ” (ICor. 3:10-11).
Any child of God that is not rooted in spiritual work lacks the real sense of responsibility and true evidence of existence. Divine employment is general and intentional commitment without human supervision. It is that thing that you do to improve the standard of people living in your locality with heavenly focus: it is a call to divine service.
Ministry is service, and minister is servant. No doubt, God ordains people into this service according to the bible: “He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. And he gave some, apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Eph.4:10-12).
The responsibilities of this leadership do not hinder the involvement of the body of Christ. Hence, Apostle Paul confirms thus: “But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry” (2Tim. 4:5). At new birth in Christ Jesus, everybody is called to this divine service without which ones salvation can be questionable and doubting. Evil is perpetrating rapidly in the world, with high level of crime, war cry, and increasing death rate on daily basis. Hence, our dearly beloved Lord and Saviour lamented thus: “And because iniquity shall about, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall he saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matt.24:12-14).
In today’s world, so many people are running out of patience: and the bible speaketh expressly, “Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:3-4). People of the world are not sympathy friendly; therefore promoting high rate of crimes.
Masses are suffering and less privilege neglected; with so many rich folks having joy in sponsoring evil which is contrary to divine ordinances. No one is safe, until he or she is saved: and how can one be saved, if no one stands in the gap to preach the undiluted gospel of the kingdom of God. “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher. And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” (Rom.10:14-15).
Everybody we come across every day of our lives is an unbeliever, until it is proven otherwise. The great master (Jesus) confirms this in the gospel according saint Mathew: “Then saith he unto his disciples, the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest” (Matt.9:37-38). Remember this; you are saved to save others. May God give you the grace to win souls into His kingdom in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
God bless you.
