Joy is Different from Happiness.

Theme:  Joy is Different from Happiness.
Memory Verse:
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for  evermore  (Psalm 16:11)
Beloved
The presence of the  true God in Christ Jesus is characterised by fullness of joy. We can not have true joy from anything else.
Joy is a very strong enduring positive emotion. Unlike happiness which is temporal, superficial and  is related to the happenings around the person, joy on the other hand is a lot more deep seated with no noticeable variation  with the person’s life events.
Joy is from the Holy Spirit, and is listed in Galatians 5:22 as one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law” . Again Apostel tells us : “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (Romans 14:17).
Joy is dependent on what you know; What you know determines what you believe; What you believe brings you joy. If you know that all things work together for good to those who love God(Romans 8:28), you will not quiver or be moved when you go through trials. So, whereas happiness depends on positive events around you, such as winning a lottery or getting a visa to travel Overseas, joy is deep seated; joy is related to your knowledge and your belief. If you make the Holy Spirit your greatest teacher, your knowledge and beliefs will be in agreement with the word of God and your joy will be complete. This is why, someone can be in prison physically, but be so full of joy based on his thoughts, knowledge and beliefs.
Ignorance of things of the spirit has deprived many believers of their joy. Many believers grumble, complain and murmur very easily at the slightest challenge. They lack the understanding that trials are for our training and learning, hence we must remain steadfast. This is why Saint James tells us: “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience” (James 1:2-3).
Beloved, in Christ Jesus, God does not just want you to be happy but to have joy. Not incomplete joy, but full joy. By paying attention to the word of God, may full joy be yours in Jesus Mighty name. Amen.
Jesus Christ says: “These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full” (John 15:11).
This is your season of complete joy. Take your focus away from people, earthly things, challenges, and focus your entire thoughts, heart, soul and spirit on the gospel of the grace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
It’s well with you in Jesus Name!
To grow spiritually increasingly requires daily meditation in the word of God, with total fear of God. Train yourself yourself to be godly…(Tim 4:7-8, NIV). Learn to meditate on the word of God day and night ( Joshua 1:8).
Prayer: There is someone reading this message , may your joy be full this season as you meditate on the word of God in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
