Know Who You Are!

Theme: Know Who You Are!
Memory Verse: “They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.”(Psalm 82:5-6).
Beloved,
“O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”

“O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.”

“Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.”
Let’s bless Him who thirsted so that we would be filled. Let’s bless him who became poor, so that we would become rich.

I deliberately left out the text, so as to know students of the word of God!

“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.”( Phil 4:4).

Brethren, you can not have the Word of God dwelling in you without having joy. If you are always complaining, grumbling, and murmuring, please, examine yourself:
“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” (2Cor 13:5).

This week the Lord is reminding us that many children of God do no appreciate and value their relationship with God in Christ Jesus. The Psalmist, speaking through the Holy Spirit in our memory verse says true believers are gods: “I  have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.”(Psalm 82:6).

Every true believer has the assurance of sonship with God in Jesus Christ. Indeed, the Bible says: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”(John 1:12).

Jesus was one man who knew his true position with His Father. Hear Him: “I and my Father are one.” (John 10:30). He was however humble enough to add: “for my Father is greater than I” (John 14:28). Through our faith in Christ, we become one with God by grace. God has given all power in heaven and on earth to Jesus( Matt 28:18). Jesus in turn has given this power to everyone who believes in Him: “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”( Luke 10:19). In fact Jesus assured those who believe in Him of opportunity to do “greater works”(John 14:12).

Ignorance is a big factor currently in the Church. I am often amazed at the tendency of believers to limit themselves through negative statements and confessions. You need to arise and know who you are. Through your faith in Christ Jesus, you are not an ordinary being. The word of God describes you as “…a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people….”(1Peter 2:9).

Beloved, be a spiritual Christian. Refuse  to live in ignorance. Daily enhance your faith by exposing your mind to the word of God, because faith cometh by hearing the word of God(Romans 10:17). You can only achieve what you believe in. All things are possible to him who believes (Mark 9:23).

It is well with you in Jesus name. Greater is he that is  in you than he that is in the world (1John 4:4). You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you ( Phil 4:13).

Have a blessed and fruitful week in Jesus name. Amen.
