Theme: PRAYER is the Key.

Memory Verse:
“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven…”(Matthew 6:9-13).

Beloved
Once more we welcome every reader of this message to the year of our Lord, 2015. May God give you the grace of understanding and to keep your focus on Him from the beginning to the end of the year.

This week the Lord wants  us to know more about PRAYER and to learn to pray more intensely. In our memory verse, Jesus taught His disciples how to pray. The prayer was broad comprising adoration, praise, worship, intercession, supplication, forgiveness etc. Apostle Paul admonishes us to
“Pray  without ceasing” ( 1Thess 5:17). Meaning that our daily life and activities should be laced with prayer 24 hours a day!

What is prayer? Prayer is talking to God and God talking to us.  It is a dialogue ( rather than a monologue). You learn to talk to God and  you learn to “be still ” (Psalm 46:10), so that God may talk to you. Prayer is basically communication between God and man. Many people pray for various reasons. Many people are not sure if God has answered their prayers or not, when they pray.

Different types of prayer has been recognised. Personally, I see them as levels of prayer rather than types:

Prayer of Supplication- where you make your specific request known to God.
Prayer of Intercession( interceding for others).

Prayer of Enquiry -you enquire something of the Lord.

Prayer of  petition- bring a particular case before God.

Prayer of forgiveness (1John 1:8-9).

Prayer of reporting-where you simply report your situation or circumstance or enemy to God, and let God act as He deems fit.

Prayer of Thanksgiving (John 11:41)

Prayer of Praise, Worship & Adoration.

Praising God, and calling  Him his functional names  and reminding him of His works is a very  potent & powerful  prayer instrument. Prayer generally is a weapon of spiritual warfare. The most potent of all these  weapons is the prayer of praise and thanksgiving. When it appears that nothing else is working. When it appears God is not listening. When it appears you are at a standstill. When everything seems hopeless. Suspend every other thing and begin to praise Him. Begin to call him his names: Alpha , Omega, Beginning, Ending, the first and the last, the Lion of the tribe of Judah,  the one called the Word; the Way, the Truth and the Life; the resurrection & the life, the great provider, the great Shepherd, Jehovah El-Shaddai, Wonderful, Counselor, mighty God, Prince of peace etc . Truly, God inhabits the praises of His people ( Psalm 22:3).

If you are truly connected to God in Christ Jesus, as you begin to praise Him, he will arise in your situation. Please, ensure you are right before Him. God will only bless the righteous ( Psalm 5:12).

In 2 Chronicle 20:21-22,  three mighty kings attacked King, Jehoshaphat. With the leading of the Lord. He appointed praise singers to praise God. The Word says :
“And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten”.

While in physical prison, Apostle Paul and Silas began to praise God, and God came down on their behalf:
“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed” ( Acts 16:25-26).

When Jesus got to tomb of Lazarus, He was not asking God to intervene.  He simply gave thanks to His Father with the understanding that God had already intervened:
” Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me” (John 11:41).

Beloved, when it appears that God is distant from you, avoid complaining, murmuring and grumbling. Change the level of your prayer to praise , worship and thanksgiving, and bring down God to your situation.

It shall be well with you this 2015 in Jesus precious name.

To grow spiritually increasingly requires daily meditation in the word of God.  Train yourself yourself to be godly.

Prayer: To every reader of this message, may you receive the grace to engage in prayer of praise and thanksgiving in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

A Call To Salvation!
If you have read this message by chance, but  you are undecided or have no clarity whether you want to give your life to Christ. I would encourage you to give it a trial. Please, pray this prayer with us:

“Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I confess all my sins to you right now. Please forgive my sins and give me the  gift and joy of eternal life. I ask you to come into my heart and life right now and be my Lord and Saviour. Lord, please write my name in the book  of Life.  I promise to sincerely surrender all to you and serve you diligently always from now on, in Jesus name I have prayed. Amen”. Congratulations! You are now spiritually  born again in Christ Jesus. I would encourage you to join any word based bible fellowship group of your choice. Please, be prayerful in choosing the group .

In the Ministry Of the Word (MOW)-Acts 6:4, we primarily encourage and empower believers to be rich in the words of God: “let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom” (Col 3:16). The entrance of the WORD is the true source of LIGHT in a dark world(Ps 119:130). We also encourage believers to speak to one another “in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs(Eph 5:19). We encourage everyone to “seek first the kingdom of God  his righteousness”..Matt 6:33). We stress that: Righteousness exalts a person (Prov 14:34). We emphasize that pure Christianity is about True Spirituality in Christ Jesus. We emphasize that the POWER in the blood of Jesus has set us FREE from all forms of bondage, ignorance, disease and that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2Cor 3:17). Jesus  Christ is the Word of God (John 1:1; Rev 19:13). We emphasise that Jesus  is the Truth (John 14:6). The words of God are spirit & are Life(John 6:63). We allow the Scriptures to answer all questions. We avoid the dilution, misinterpretation or deliberate corruption of the words of God. We create the awareness that Jesus has made all true believers kings and priests unto God and his Father(Rev 1:6). In addition, aside from soul winning, as a spiritual body, we also empower unbelievers with knowledge using the principles of our Lord Jesus Christ with the understanding that when they witness the power of the living God, they will be compelled to believe and exalt His  holy name (Psalm 46:10).

One major objective of MOW is to increasingly improve everyone’s spiritual understanding! Spiritual ignorance is a major cause of human destruction(Hosea 4:6). Indeed, many children of God have gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge (Isa 5:13). Indeed, “through knowledge shall the just be delivered” (Prov 11:9). We are established by the righteousness in the word of God (Isa 54:14).

Please note that the MOW is an initiative and the spiritual arm of Abasi Health Foundation (AHF). AHF is a registered NGO in Nigeria , with the primary objective of empowering all groups of people to optimize their health. It is aimed at encouraging everyone to have increasing awareness of three broad levels of health: Physical, Mental and Spiritual. May God give you the grace of increasing understanding in Jesus Name. Amen. Websites: http//www.ministryoftheword.org; http//www.abasihealthfoundation.org
