Improving Our Spiritual Understanding

Theme: You are a Victim of Your Fear.

Memory Verse:
“For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me” (Job 3:25).
Beloved
We bless God and the grace in the Word of God for knowledge and understanding.”Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord” (2Peter 1:2).

Due to ignorance, many Christians have become victims of diseases, accidents and varied adverse circumstances . This season, in Christ Jesus, the LORD wants to set you free, and restore you by improving your understanding.
The LORD says: “I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you” (Joel 2:25). To be fruitful in the kingdom, the LORD says you should avoid shallow water and learn to launch deep: “Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught” (Luke 5:4).
Many children of God are victims of fear. According to our memory verse, what you fear most will eventually come upon you. Many people have developed cancer after a period of fear of having cancer, perhaps triggered by the fact that someone close to them or someone they know have cancer or died of cancer. It is the same for many other diseases and disorders. The truth is that God has not given us a spirit of fear:

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind ” (2Tim 1:7).

Fear is the exact opposite of faith which comes by hearing and soaking yourself with the word of God (Romans 10:17).

Fear often cause illness and prevent many true believers from taking the necessary steps required for their fruitfulness. Our Father himself is very much aware of this, hence He commands us to Fear Not (Gen 15:1), in up to 365 times in the bible. God is very much aware that we are victims of our fears. The only one the LORD wants us to fear, is Himself, which according to Him, is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom (Proverbs 1:7; Proverbs 9:10; Psalm 111:10). The truth is that you become what you fear most. You tend to focus your mind, heart and spirit on what you fear most. If you sufficiently fear cancer you will experience cancer; If you sufficiently fear failure you will experience failure; If you sufficiently fear God, you will experience God in Christ Jesus (2Cor 3:18).

So brethren , what will you rather fear?

During the call of Joshua, God assured him: “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” (Josh 1:5). But when God saw Joshua’s fears, He commanded him: “Be strong and of a good courage”(Josh 1:6-7). Yet, Joshua was still fearful. Hence, God became rather angry with him, and you could notice some anger in the tone of God’s voice: “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest”(Josh 1:9).

In the army of Gideon, I understand a mere announcement that if any one is fearful, he should stay back, led to 22,000 men out of 32, 000 dropping out: “Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand” (Judges 7:3).
Brethren, believe me, fear is real in spirituality warfare. However, we need not be afraid once we abide in him (John 15:7). We are not fighting on our own strength(Zech 4:6). God in Christ is our senior partner. He is our invisible miracle worker. Every Christian should see himself or herself as a co-builder, a co- labourer with God in Christ (1Cor 3:9).

In true spirituality warfare, fear is real. If it were not so, God will not command us to ‘fear not’ 365 times in his instruction manual (the Bible). If you sufficiently fear God, other fears will fade away. In spiritual warfare, you need Esther’s mindset of ” if I perish I perish” (Esther 4:16), to fully claim your lost glory.

Receive the grace to be sufficiently God fearing in Jesus name. Amen
To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). However, the first thing you must desire greatly is total spiritual freedom through the truth in the word of God ( John 8:32).

Prayer: There is someone reading this message, receive the grace to be sufficiently God fearing and to overcome every other fear in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
