Are you a Fruitful Branch?

Theme: Are you a Fruitful Branch?

Memory Verse:
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing”(John 15:5).

Beloved,
We welcome you to a new week and a new month. The month of June, being the six month, is symbolic of COMPLETION.  In Christ Jesus, may God complete all that He has started in your life in Jesus Precious Name. Amen.

Brethren, if you are truly born again in Christ Jesus, you have every reason to be filled with JOY in the Holy Ghost(Romans 14:17). The good news is that you are never alone, according to our memory verse, you are a branch of Christ, provided you abide in Him.

Through your faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by His grace, you have been translated from the Kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of Light. The question is: How fruitful are you in the kingdom? John 15:2 informs us that those who are fruitless are to be cut down by the Father Himself. Sharing the word of God is fundamental mandate for every born again Christian.

In the Ministry of the Word (MOW) we empower one another with the undiluted, unadulterated word of God. Recently, I read a spiritual comment on one of the MOW’s platform  by a Christian Brother I met at one of the Redeemed Christian Church parishes in the UK that “the Pharisees were doers of the Word”. I quickly responded to correct him as I thought he might have written it in error. To my surprise, he engaged me in rather pedantic Biblical argument maintaining that he was right. I decided to let the matter rest since my calling is NOT to engage in unedifying biblical arguments. To my mind, it is amazing the extent of false beliefs and doctrines spreading within the Church. Truly, the people of God perish because they lack knowledge( Hosea 4:6). Please, be very careful about ideas and doctrines you hold unto even when it comes from men of God, ensure that they agree with the undiluted word of God. Remember, as a man thinks in his heart, so is he(Prov 23:7).

If the Pharisees were “doers of the Word”, why would Jesus, the Word of God Himself ( John 1:1; Rev 19:13), constantly refers to Scribes and Pharisees as hypocrites, in so many verses of the gospel: “But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in” (Matt 23:13).
St James urges all true believers to be doers of the word of God, not mere hearers:”But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”(James 1:22).

Every born again Christian is an ambassador of Christ. We are His extension. He is the Vine. We are His branches. It is my responsibility to align our thoughts, emotions and actions with his own. You are never complete until you are blended with Christ Jesus: “And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power”(Col 2:10).

As you look forward to a new week and a new month, please be diligent in all you do. Please, be careful not to accept every doctrine without examining such in the light of the word of God.

For those of us Nigerians, I say big congratulations for a NEW ERA of discipline, integrity, hard work, progress, hope and high expectations. May the good Lord bless us and grant us favour in Jesus Precious Name. Amen.
Have a joyful week.

Yours in the Vineyard of Jesus Christ. Bro Ben Bassey, Iyobosa, Esther & the MOW family.
