Title: Life of Faith Based on Conviction By Bro Bassey Usungedo

Text: John 6: 66-69 "From that time, many of His disciples went back and walked no more with Him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, will you also go away? Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord to whom shall we go? Thou hast the word of Eternal life. And we believe and are SURE THAT THOU ART THE CHRIST THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD." Friend welcome on board, thanks for the opportunity to reason together. Conviction is having a FIRM believe or opinion on somebody or something. It is believing something strongly and of being sure about it. Life is precious and there are no two lives but ONE; just one life. It could be very costly to gamble with the one life that we have. Jesus came and declared " I am the way, the truth and the life", a pronouncement that indicates that Jesus is the solution to the problems of humanity, yet it sounds religious in people's hearts, minds and ears. God declared, witnessing to His Son, "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased." Matt 3: 17. In another place He said: " This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased; HEAR YE HIM." Matt 17:5. God Himself has introduced His Son Jesus to mankind for our greater attention. During Jesus' birth it was prophesied: "And she (Mary) shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." No wonder when John the Baptist saw Him, he declared " Behold the lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world." John 1: 29. Pilate also in his testimony when Jesus was brought before him said "Behold the man." John 19:5 and Peter speaking under the unction of the Holy Ghost in Acts 2:22 referred to Jesus as " ...A man approved (attested) of God..." Friends, The Bible says " He that hath received His testimony hath SET to his seal that God is true." John 3: 33. Faith that will truely sustain you and cause God to grant you those desires must be based on a firm conviction that God is real, Jesus is real and He is the Saviour and Redeemer indeed. Our faith should be anchored on a conviction or strong opinion of God; and that He has sent a Saviour to us in Jesus Christ. Believe you me God made His Son sin for us,that we become the righteousness of God in Him; that is to say, in Jesus Christ we have right standing before God. Are you convince? In our text, we are informed that some believers in Christ began to drag their feet, they wouldn't believe, hence follow any longer, "went back and walked no more with him" But some had this conviction we are talking about; I know whom I believe, whose I am and whom I serve. We will go no where, You are the Christ, the son of the Living God. You have the word of eternal life. We are sure. Brethren let me ask you to sincerely take a stand of Faith today and let your faith be anchored on the truth that Jesus Christ is Lord. Remain Blessed.
