SALVATION-by Pastor Usungedo

Memory Verse: ” And she shall bring forth a Son and thou shall call His name JESUS : for He shall SAVE his people from their sins” ( Matt. 1:21)

I give God praise for another privilege to share His word with us. Thank you so much.

Salvation is the all inclusive word of the Gospel, gathering into itself all the Redemptive Acts and Processes.
It deals with the emancipation of mankind from whatsoever Sin had caused: Spiritual conflict, death, sickness, bondage, slavery, separation from God etc.

However, God’s Salvation is not merely a deliverance as such, but a DIVINE PERSON- The Deliverer, A Saviour. (Jon.3:16; Acts 4:12.)

Yes a Saviour . Our text states clearly that  a Son shall be born, and shall be called Jesus for He shall save ( The Saviour shall save) his people from their sins.
” And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is CHRIST THE LORD.” Lk2:10 – 11.
During this birth, there was a just and devout man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who waited for Christ’s coming and ministry. The Bible went on to say that it was revealed unto him by the Holy Sport that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

Stated further the Bible informs that Simeon came by the Spirit into the Temple: and when the parents brought in the Child Jesus to do for Him after the custom of the law, then he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said:
” Lord now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace according to thy Word: For my eyes have seen thy Salvation” Lk. 2: 29-30.
Simeon saw Him with his eyes, his heart received Him, his hands handled Him; the long awaited Messiah and Saviour. Is.62:11, Lk 3:6.
Salvation is personal and only in Christ.

Christ’s mission was very clear:
” For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” Lk.19:10.
Salvation means deliverance from being lost. Man is wandering about in the forest of life, trying to go somewhere but unable to find his way. He is lost. His only hope is for someone to notice that he is lost and begin to seek for the Saviour. This is where the glorious Gospel of Salvation comes in. God sees that man is lost and He sends His Son to seek and save man.
Salvation means deliverance from sin.

” For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” RM.3:23.
Sin had separated man from God. ( Is.59:2)
In salvation man is justified freely by God’s grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. RM.3:24.
Man is delivered from the power of darkness( Satan/ sin) and is translated into the kingdom of the Son of God, in whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

Sin is a spiritual disease which man has no cure.
Sin is a master that enslaves and will not let go more so the world man lives is crooked, perverse and sinful.
The cure is that God has sent His Son to seek and to save man. Matt. 1:21.
It is writtenChrist in me the hope of glory“. Therefore man without Christ is hopelessness, misery, crises and eternal damnation.
Salvation means reconciliation with God Col.2:20-23.

Salvation means deliverance from enemies and danger Matt.8:25-27.
Salvation means to make well, to heal, restore physical , mental and emotional health. 1Pet.2:24; Isaiah. 53: 3-5.
Salvation declares that Jesus Christ is concerned with man’s suffering. ( Jn. 15:13-14)

For all these Christ came, was crucified, He shed His blood, was mocked, scourged with stripes, given the crown of thorns, He died on the cross, buried and on the third day God raised Him from the dead for our justification.
Therefore in Christ you are justified, declared righteous, accepted by God and given Eternal Life.
If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new. 2Cor.5:17.
He is waiting at the door of your heart knocking, even now. Open for Him and receive forgiveness and a brand new life. Rev 3:20; ROM. 10:9-10.

Jesus is the reason for the season. Preach salvation to all and sundry humanity needs God’s Salvation The Lord Jesus Christ.

Stay blessed. Wishing you a Merry Christmas in advance.
