Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11 (KJV)
The Most High is the most powerful soldier in the whole universe. His name, LORD of hosts, connotes a military leader. He is battle ready not to fight for Himself but to fight for His children and all who do His bidding. No wonder in the opening scripture we are being admonished to put on the whole armor of God.
It presupposes that we are in battle against an adversary. Who is this adversary? It is the devil and his cohorts of darkness, or demons. The good news is that our adversary has already been defeated by Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:15). We have been given the authority to reign on the earth (Matthew 28:17–20). However, if you don’t exercise this authority, the devil and his cohorts of darkness will toss you to and fro.
Dear beloved, you have to put on the whole armor of God so that you can continually keep the devil, demons, and opposing circumstances under your feet. Put on the whole armor—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God (Ephesians 6:14-18) —and you will reign in every area of your life. Hallelujah! You are an overcomer!

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for enlightening me by your Word. I put on the whole armor of God now, so please remind me to always put on my armor and keep reigning in every aspect of my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
