Word for Today: Have you the marks of Christ?

Memory Verse
“From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus” (Galatians 6:17).
Dearly Beloved
Blessed new month of August. Your month of NEW BEGINNING.
In words of Apostle Paul:
“But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ” (Philippians 3:7-8)
Everywhere you go , every situation you find yourself, there is always an opportunity to market or ‘showcase’ Jesus Christ. I am often amazed that many Christians are not comfortable with testifying about Jesus with others, for what ever reasons. Many Christians are not honouring or promoting Jesus Christ in thoughts, words and actions.
After Apostle Paul found Jesus through a dramatic circumstance on his way to Damascus in Acts Chapter 9, he considered everything else he had as useless . Many Christians are not truly married to Jesus; they are only merely befriending Him.
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour is God the Son, within the Holy Trinity. He was with God the Father, in the beginning ( John 1:1); he became flesh ( John 1:14), in order to reveal the true nature of God to man. He was the most spiritual and the least religious person while on earth. You can ‘showcase’ or promote Jesus anywhere you are by embracing His nature; by promoting truth, peace, compassion, openness, transparency, honesty, sincerity, loyalty, diligence, humility and love etc. You can promote Him by praying for others without ceasing. You can promote Him without verbally mentioning the name Jesus aloud. After all, they often say that actions speak louder than words. You can promote Him by radiating His glory for others to see everywhere you go.
What have you suffered for Jesus? Or, what are you ready to suffer for Christ ? What ‘marks’ can you show to others that you have been crucified with Christ? Christianity is what we do, not merely what we say. Some Christians do not feel confident to talk about the supernatural person of Jesus.
The important point is obeying the Great Commission, to minister the gospel to all nations; the starting point is to totally obey the word of God through apostle Paul:
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord” (Col 3:16).
After Jesus Christ, Brother Paul is a man after my heart. Here is a man who was not with Jesus physically on earth, yet his intimacy with Jesus was extraordinary. No apostle who interacted with Jesus physically will deny that apostle Paul was at the top. He demonstrated an extraordinary, supernatural intimacy, passion and commitment to Jesus Christ. Hear him:
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20)
“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 3:21)
As for me, let no one find faults with me for the sake of Christ; rather, let it be known all over the world that nothing else is more important to me, but to know Christ the more and to increasingly experience the power in His word.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Stay connected with Jesus Christ, the Word; our Lord. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). It also requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: “Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV). Let the Ministry Of the Word (Acts 6:4), be your number one priority.
