Dearly Beloved
As Christmas draws near, we express our GOOD thoughts to everyone, especially the household of God in Christ Jesus. We say, Fear Not!
In line with this season of love, the Lord is asking me to remind us that True Spirituality (you may call it Spiritual Christianity) is what you DO and not what you SAY.
There are many Christians with good knowledge of the word of God , but who find it difficult to do what the word of God says. We may have knowledge of the word of God but still go to hell. The devil himself knows the word of God and can quote the bible profusely , as in the temptation of Jesus in Matthew 4:1-11. However, the devil does not OBEY the word of God.
To what extent do you obey the Word? Do NOT merely read the word of God. Practice what it says. Be doer of the Word. Put the word of God into practice and let Him work for you. The Word says:
“For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was” (James 1:23-24).
JESUS portrayed the significance of being a doer of the Word with a parable:
“But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.” (Matthew 21:28-31).
The unbelievers, the sinners, the drugs users etc may go into the kingdom of God before many in the church.
Be doer of the Word not mere hearer!
Stay connected to JESUS, the Word of God; the Way, the Truth and the Life; the Son of God; the grace of God to humanity.
Connect, Change and Live (CCL).
Be compassionate and kind to one another
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all(Phil 4:23). Amen
