Theme: Be a Partaker of His Divine Nature.

 

 

Memory Verse:

“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (2Peter 1:4)

 

 

 

 

Beloved,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In Him we live and move and have our being.

 

God created man in His own image and likeness ( Gen 1:27), so that man would share His divine nature. This divine nature was lost through the original sin of Adam and Eve( Genesis chapter 3). We thank God for love ( John 3:16),  which enabled our sins to be washed away through the previous blood of Jesus Christ. Through Jesus Christ we are reconnected to God and able to stand boldly in righteousness before Him because the one who knew no sin bore the sins of the whole world at the cross. The scripture says: 

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”(2 Cor 5:21).  So our righteousness is not of our own.

 

The divine nature of God is broad and reveals the true nature of the living God, the Lord Almighty, whose name is Jehovah. The King of kings and the Lord of lords, the Lord of hosts. Righteousness, holiness, purity, faithfulness, integrity etc , are some of God’s divine nature. The scripture

states that the eyes of God are too pure to behold iniquities ( Habakkuk 1:13). Galatians 5:22, lists some of this divine nature (the fruit of the Spirit), as love, joy, peace, patience, temperance etc. Some of the divine nature are listed by Apostle Peter:

 

“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness…” (2 Peter 1:5-7).  Many children of God may not appreciate that knowledge is the nature of God. That is why He is called Omniscience( all knowing God). Ignorance is dangerous and has led many to destruction and is a great enemy of God ( Hosea 4:6). Some children of God have contemplated suicide because they lack patience. They are not “patient in tribulation” (Romans 12:12).

 

 

It is impossible to be a partaker of  this divine nature without the Holy Spirit dwelling in us.  Is your body clean enough for the Holy Spirit to dwell in? The word of God says:

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are” (1 Cor 3:16-17).

 

The world we live in is very corrupt due to the influence and activities of the prince of this world ( Satan). He went to Jesus but could not prevail ( Matt 4:1-10). The weapon Jesus used was the word of God: “It is written”. We have to ‘escape’ the corruption in this world before we can be partakers of God’s divine  nature. The prince of this world will visit you just as he visited Jesus, but he should have nothing in you( John 14:30).

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world”(1 John 2:16).

 

How prepared are you to be a partaker of the divine nature? Put on the full armour of God. Be ready to resist the devil and he will flee from you.

 

Jesus Christ came that we will enjoy life abundantly ( John 10:10) . Aggressively tell Satan ‘ I refuse to bow to you’! Tell sickness, doubt, fear, ignorance, stagnation, frustration ‘I refuse to bow to you’! It shall be so in Jesus name. Amen.

 

Do not frustrate the Holy Spirit of God in you. Be diligent and desire spiritual knowledge and God will fill you up. It will then become difficult for anyone to put you under bondage.

 

 

Be a partaker of His divine nature. It is written:

“I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High” (Psalm 82:6).

 

 

 

To grow spiritually increasingly requires daily meditation in the word of God.

In the Ministry Of the Word (MOW)-Acts 6:4, we primarily encourage and empower believers to be rich in the words of God: “let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom” (Col 3:16). The entrance of the WORD is the true source of LIGHT in a dark world(Ps 119:130). We also encourage believers to speak to one another “in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs(Eph 5:19). We encourage everyone to “seek first the kingdom of God  his righteousness”..Matt 6:33). We stress that: Righteousness exalts a person (Prov 14:34). We emphasize that pure Christianity is about True Spirituality in Christ Jesus. We emphasize that the POWER in the blood of Jesus has set us FREE from all forms of bondage, ignorance, disease and that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2Cor 3:17). Jesus  Christ is the Word of God (John 1:1; Rev 19:13). We emphasise that Jesus  is the Truth (John 14:6). The words of God are spirit & are Life(John 6:63). We allow the Scriptures to answer all questions. We avoid the dilution, misinterpretation or deliberate corruption of the words of God. We create the awareness that Jesus has made all true believers kings and priests unto God and his Father(Rev 1:6). In addition, aside from soul winning, as a spiritual body, we also empower unbelievers with knowledge using the principles of our Lord Jesus Christ with the understanding that when they witness the power of the living God, they will be compelled to believe and exalt His  holy name (Psalm 46:10). 

 

One major objective of MOW is to increasingly improve everyone’s spiritual understanding! Spiritual ignorance is a major cause of human destruction(Hosea 4:6). Indeed, many children of God have gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge (Isa 5:13). Indeed, “through knowledge shall the just be delivered” (Prov 11:9). We are established by the righteousness in the word of God (Isa 54:14).
