Improving Our Spiritual Understanding
Theme: Do Not Eat Your SEED.
Memory Verse:
“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease”( Genesis 8:22).
Beloved
We bless God in Christ for a new week in the month of grace. This season our Father and the Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, wants His children to have more understanding of the principle and basis for true prosperity.
The desire and plan of God is for His children to be truly prosperous. He tells us this clearly in his word:
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth” (3John 2).
One main area that the enemy uses to keep many children of God below poverty line is in making them ignorant of the need for seed sowing. Truly, in life, if you sow nothing, you reap nothing. If you reap where you did not sow, it is fraud or stealing. Indeed Apostle Paul enables us to understand that what we reap is dependent on what we sow:
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” (Galatians 6:7).
What is a SEED? Your seed is your your anointing, your oil, your egg, your embryo, your source, your nucleus, your beginning, your foundation etc. There is no person without a seed. Even a beggar on the street has a seed. Every money that comes into your hand has a seed inserted in it, no matter how small. If you are a salary earner, every salary you receive has a seed embedded in it. Once you eat your seed, then you have NOT given God in Christ the opportunity to multiply your source.
Unfortunately, many preachers teach their congregations that seed sowing is all about giving offering, ten percent tithing or first fruit to their organisational church. But I have read in my Bible that:
“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again” (Proverbs 19:17). I have also read in my Bible that:
“The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself” (Proverbs 11:25). You do not have to tell anyone the gift you have given to the less privileged. I am often amazed that many big time preachers are televising their gifts to the poor or sending it to the newspapers for publication. Perhaps, they are NOT familiar with the word of our Lord Jesus Christ Himself:
“But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth” (Matthew 6:3).
Please, henceforth, never you eat your seed. You can sow seed by giving to your organisational church but it should not end there. You can also sow seed by giving to the needy. You can sow seed by investing in projects that will touch the lives of others. You can also sow your time or material things into God’s kingdom in Christ Jesus.
More importantly, you can SOW yourself to the kingdom, by making your life “a living sacrifice” (Romans 12:1).
If you are a salary earner, and you believe you can not invest because your salary is small, remember the Lord’s parable of the talents, and what the master did to the person who refused to invest his one talent:
“Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath” (Matthew 25:28-29).
Henceforth, may you never EAT your seed in Jesus name. If you earn 5,000 ( any currency), learn to set aside a fraction of it for the poor, charity work , church work or people oriented investment. This way, you give God the opportunity to multiply your source.
Seed sowing comes before harvest. Seed time and harvest time shall never ceased. Your time of true prosperity is NOW:
“The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it” ( Proverbs 10:22).
To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). However, the first thing you must desire greatly is total spiritual freedom through the truth in the word of God ( John 8:32).
Prayer: There is someone reading this message, receive the grace of SEED sowing in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
