Theme: Signs of the New Covenant.
Memory Verse:
” Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah (Jeremiah 31:31)
Beloved
When you are truly spiritually born again in Christ Jesus, according to John 3:3-5), you bear a MARK of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Your NEW identity in Christ Jesus is the New Covenant sign as promised in our memory verse.
What are the new covenant signs? God Himself explained this at least through Prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah and Apostle Paul. The Word says:
” But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people” (Jeremiah 31:33). Prophet Isaiah revealed it this way:
” As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever” (Isaiah 59:21). Please, read how apostle Paul revealed it in Hebrews 8:10.
Beloved, in Christ Jesus, God desires that His words will dwell in your heart, soul and spirit. So that it becomes easy for you to speak the word of God when you open your mouth, because according to JESUS:
“… for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh” (Matthew 12:34).
JESUS is the only one who can empower us to become sons of God:
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12).
The words of God are spirit and life(John 6:63). Speak the words of God to your children, so that they in turn will speak same to their own children, and before we know it, Hebrews 8:11 shall become fullfilled.
Beloved, how can you be a son of God, yet the word of God is not dwelling in your heart and spirit? How can you be a son of God, and you do not daily speak the word of God? How can you be an ambassador of God without hearing from God? How can you be a follower of Jesus Christ, and you had a 10 minutes discussion with someone, without mentioning JESUS? It is time to wake up from slumber!
When the word of God dwells in you, the devil himself recognises you as a new covenant son of God in Christ Jesus. Spend quality time with the Word of God and let Him transform you and use you for His glory.
To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33).
