Title: The Certainty of God’s Promise By Sis Abigail Bassey
Date: 20 Feb 14
(Hebrews 6:17)
The certainty of God’s promise begins and ends in his word, for He said in Mathew 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33 that “heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away”
From Hebrews 13-19; we understand that when God made His promise to Abraham, and since there was no one greater than Him to swear by, he swore by Himself and blessed Abraham. This kind of blessing and promise is incomparable to the promise anyone or any man can make.
For the bible says let your “yes be yes and no be no” but how many people can actually look at themselves in the mirror and say “am truly a man or a woman of my word” but here is our creator, the King of Glory asking that we use the tool called Faith to seek out His promise. Hebrews 11:6 says “Without Faith it is impossible to please God” and why is this so, the “b part of it says” for he that cometh to God must believe that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. So, Abraham stalked the promise of God out by waiting patiently and holding up his Faith in God.
Are you worried about the promise of God in your life? Does it seem to be taking eternity to be accomplished?
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ, And so through Him the “Amen” is spoken by us by the Glory of God” (1 Corinthians 1:20 NIV)
Many do not hold up their faith and have lost the hope and promise of God but this is to encourage you.
For by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18):
· His word;
· Himself; Numbers 23:19
We should endeavour to stalk out God’s promise as Abraham did because if we do not fuel it through Faith then the word lies dormant fulfilling nothing. Let us continually study and meditate on the word of God for exploits and the fulfilment of his promises – Joshua 1:8
The Joy of the Lord is your strength- Nehemiah 8:10.
