Text: 1 Corinthians 15:58
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV)
The children of God are blessed to have the Holy Scriptures to guide and direct them to a wonderful life. Beloved, there are many jobs you can do for Christ in this world: in the church, you can be an usher, teacher, cleaner, helper, giver, chorister; likewise, besides working in the church you can be a supporting wife or husband or minister to the needs of orphans, the sick, disabled, etc. (Romans 12:6–8). In the course of doing all these, there is a tendency to think that you are doing them in vain. It is possible that in the midst of doing all these, you are going through many challenges or opposition, to the extent that you feel like giving up.
Dear beloved, take a moment to meditate on the opening scripture. Don’t give up but, rather, be steadfast and unmovable and abound in the work of the Lord. If you believe you are doing it for the Lord, then continue in it. One day the Lord will glorify you for working for Him; He will never let your good work go unrewarded (Galatians 6:9). Hallelujah! You are an overcomer!

My faithful Father, I’m encouraged by Your Word. Thank You. Please help me create an atmosphere of joy in abounding in Your work till I embrace all the rewards You have for me in Jesus’ name. Amen!
