Improving Our Spiritual Understanding
Theme: Trials are for our Learning.
Memory Verse:
“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience” (James 1:2-3).
Beloved
It might appear paradoxical that one will be rejoicing when faced with trials, problems and challenges. However, this is exactly what Saint James is asking us to do, if you are a true child of God.
As per our memory verses, life trials and challenges are ways that our loving Father uses to train, refine and strengthen us daily. By the grace of God, this writer is living example. My strong passion for the gospel and the Word of God is not merely based on what I have read about God in Christ or the goodness of Jesus when He was on earth, but on what God has done personally in my life. By the grace of God, this writer will write a message on his personal testimonies in future. Truly, this writer has personal testimonies regarding the faithlessness of God when we relate to him in righteousness, truth and in spirit.
The Bible tells us that  while on earth, JESUS Himself learned a lot through His trials and tribulations. Hear what Apostle Paul says about Jesus:
“Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him”(Hebrews 5:8-9).
Any body reading about the life events of Apostle Paul will appreciate that he went through many trials and challenges, yet he called them “light affliction”. Hear him:
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory”( 2 Cor 4:17).
Unfortunately, many believers learn to complain, grumble and murmur easily when they are faced with challenges, instead of learning to use such opportunities to praise God. They are ignorant of the truth that as they have spoken, so God will do for them( Num 14:28). Life is about wisdom. In the course of my spiritual works, I have counselled believers who are having difficulty sleeping well at night. I remember explaining to them that anytime they are unable to sleep at night, it might be God is waking them up to relate to Him! They should try spiritual meditation and prayerfully reading the word of God and their sleep will be restored because God gives sleep to those he loves( Psalm 127:2).
I may not know the exact nature of your challenges, but you are serving the All Sufficient God. God that is more than enough.  However, you have to relate to Him with sincerity, transparency, humility, gratitude and righteousness. The Word says at the mention of the name Jesus, every knew should bow ( Phil 2:9-10). Every problem, discomfort, disease fizzle away at the name of Jesus, once you are on the right standing with Him.
Stay connected to Jesus!
To grow spiritually entails daily meditating in the word of God( Joshua 1:8).
Have a blessed and fruitful week in Jesus name. Amen. The month of August represents a new beginning. It’s time for you to move to the next level of your life . It shall be so in Jesus name. Amen.
Prayer: There is someone reading this message , may you receive the grace to learn to rejoice in the midst of trials in Jesus name. Amen.
