Beloved
Anger is a dangerous negative emotion that has destroyed many people and also caused many people to miss their promised land. I am sure you would readily remember Moses, the man said to be the meekest person on the surface of the earth at the time. Yet, because of anger, he missed the promised land.
Am sure I have written on ANGER previously, but the Lord knows why He is leading me to emphasise on it again today. I believe the LORD wants to set someone free indeed . Depending on the severity, anger is a terrible demonic emotion. When you are angry, you think the wrong thoughts, speak the wrong words and do the wrong things. Unfortunately, some people never have the opportunity to reverse the wrong things they have done in anger. In the field of mental health where I work, I have heard and read about anger sending people to prison many times. Many people have committed murder at the fit of anger. Anger can significantly impair the chances of one’s recovery from mental health problems. I have heard many people talk of ‘righteousness indignation’ or justifiable anger! Yes, we are often told we have the right to be angry when we have been seriously wrong. True, in some situations anger may seems the right reaction. There are instances in the bible when God Himself was angry. But what does the Word say? You will NOT be a fool in Jesus Name.
When really provoked, one thing you could say is learn to say nothing. When really, provoked, one thing you could do is learn to do nothing. Some people would advise that you simply ‘walk away’ from the situation.
The word of God is always right. St James admonished us to be slow to anger:
“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God” (James 1:19-20).
Anger may appear justifiable in some situations but you don’t want to be a fool.
Anger rests in the bosom of fools .
Have a Spirit- filled week
Stay blessed
To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33).
Prayer
Dear Father, please destroy every spirit of anger in us in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
Yours in the Vineyard of Christ.
