Word for Today: If there was no fault with the old, there would be no need for the new.

Word for Today:
If there was no fault with the old covenant, there would have been no need for the new.

Memory Verse:

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people” (Hebrews 8:10).

Beloved

Jesus Christ is the fulfilment of the entire law and proverbs ( Matthew 5:17). Jesus did not come to destroy the Old Testament but to fulfil it. When reading both the Old and New Testaments, you need wisdom to apply them to yourself.

“For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord” (Hebrews 8:7-9).

The word of God dwelling in your heart and in your spirit is a sign of the New Covenant:

“But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more” (Jeremiah 31:33-34).

You can see an agreement between the old and the new.

To be a Christian is to have the word of God (the sword of the Spirit) hidden in your heart and in your spirit. Meditate on the word of God.

Be a good Christian!

Have a Spirit- filled week. Stay blessed!

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for the old and new covenants, please let your words dwell in our hearts and spirit in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Yours in the Vineyard of Christ.
