“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name” (Philippians 2:5-9).
Beloved
Please, meditate on the above scriptures increasingly. We understand from the bible that Jesus Christ was exalted by His Father on account of His humility.
The bible says though He was God(the Son), and has been given all powers, He never claimed equality with His Father. Lack of humility has deprived many believers of their blessings. In my few years of walking with the Lord, I have seen lack of humility and arrogance even among big title holders in the church. I mean, people considering themselves more highly than they should do. There is nothing we have, that we did not receive from above. Without God, we are nothing.
Let us learn humility as we go about our daily duties. Let us be humble within our families, communities , ministries, work places etc. The more we humble ourselves, the more we are exalted by God Himself. Let us learn from Jesus Christ, who washed the feet of His disciples.
“For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ” (1Corinthians 2:16).
To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). It also requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: “Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).
Prayer
Dear Father, please help us to have the mind of Christ in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
